1st Update - 11:15 am local time

I have just spoken to Gerlinde by radio - she was at an altitude of about 8,400m. All four climbers are severely suffering from the cold, however, they are expecting to be climbing in the sun in about three quarters of an hour.

Then they will also reach the angular couloirs, which leads to the summit ridge and they are expecting better snow conditions there. Bearing all that in mind, the four are pretty confident. Gerlinde said that she was feeling good, given the circumstances.

We are keeping our fingers crossed!
Ralf Dujmovits as well as the home team

Summit ridge to summit would take about an hour approx. That'd mean we'll have to sit and tremble for at least another half hour, 3 quarters at max... [Thumbs up team! You can do this!]

At 16:00 they were still in the ramp at the exit of the Japanese couloir. Ralf's notice mentions reaching Gipfelgrat at 16:35 which is more like the Summit Ridge. From the ramp to the summit in 35 minutes is not quite possible, let's wait for positive news. I hope they reach the summit and make it safely back to high camp. It is much deserved for all of them!
